Check if you are entitled to compensation

Complaints may only be filed against airlines which hold operating license within the EU and in relation to flights with at least one airport within the EU. All you need to do is to complete the short form and our system will automatically verify whether you are entitled to compensation and the sum of compensation due to you.

What are „extraordinary circumstances”?

Airlines often rely on ”extraordinary circumstances” defence and reject your direct claim for compensation. When we correspond with the airline on passengers’ behalf, we ensure that the ‘extraordinary circumstances’ defence is thoroughly investigated and scrutinized. There are some guidelines concerning „extraordinary circumstances”.

Can I file a claim on my own?

You can try to file a claim against the airline by writing to the airline’s customer service department providing your flight details, reservation number and explaining how much compensation you are due. We suggest, however, that you refrain from sending the original documents and that you retain all correspondence to and from the airline in case you decide to use our services or issue legal proceedings.

Time limits for filing your claim

If you travelled within the last six years and your flight was cancelled, delayed or you were denied boarding, you may have the right to compensation. The amount of the compensation depends on the travel distance and the duration of the delay.

What documents would be helpful when making the claim for compensation?

If you want to obtain compensation, you should have retained:

- booking reservation,
- boarding passes,
- proof of payments for food, accommodation and transport if you incurred these costs

Additionally, we would advise that you obtain:

- delay/ cancellation certificate issued by the air carrier or the airport,
- photographs (ie. of departure/arrival boards showing the delay/cancellation)

Can I seek compensation if my flight was diverted to a different airport?

If your flight was diverted to a different airport, you may only obtain compensation if the plane reached your final destination three hours after the scheduled arrival time. In majority of cases where the flight is diverted, it does not arrive at the final destination, therefore in theory all passengers on these flights are entitled to compensation.

It is important to remember that often the airlines need to divert the flight due to adverse weather conditions at the destination airport. In such circumstances you are only entitled to food and accommodation if you had to wait overnight for the connection to your final destination.
